Magic Potion! MAC Fix+

I will rave about this until something better comes along.  This is one of MAC’s products that many people are unsure about. It claims to be a finishing spray that sets make up but it isn’t. But it’s awesome nonetheless.

A make up setting spray locks your make up in place. Think a Jersey Girl tease and a can of hairspray to set that. That is what a make up setting /finishing spray is. Popular setting sprays include Model in a Bottle, Skindinavia and closer to home, Alila’s Fix That Make up.

MAC fix + is a cooling skin refresher.

MAC describes it as: An aqua-spritz of vitamin and minerals, infused with a calm-the-skin blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber, topped off with the fresh, natural, energizing scent of Sugi. Adds radiance, finishes makeup. Spray it on. Skin drinks it up!

It sounds so delicious, you’d think it’s a smoothie, but please don’t drink it . . .

Does it live up to its claims? Yes and a lot more! This skin refresher is a multi-tasker:

First off, you can you this to get a radiant glow after you’ve applied foundation. Because it’s water based, it will make you glow not shine!  No disco ball effect here.

You can spray it on your face before foundation for easier application. It works especially well with foundations or other cream-based products that dry fast as it makes the product stay wet a bit longer allowing you more time to work with it.

You can use it after cleanser to soothe irritated skin or as a toner get rid of any cleanser that may have been left behind.

I have gone overboard with powder before (too much powder died with Dynasty). To fix that problem, just spritz on your face and go from clown to queen with the snap of your fingers.

During the day, if your make up dries out, spritz some on your face and your make up pulls back together.

But I use this guy to to foil pigments and powder eye shadows.

MAC Fix+ plays well with others, so if doesn’t matter what brand of eye shadow or pigment you use. It intensifies the colour and brings out the vibrancy. It does this best with metallic eye shadows.

Now, I’ve heard people say that MAC Fix+ sets their make up. I don’t believe it and it’s never happened to me.  I think it create the illusion that it sets your make up because it makes your make up look its best . . . fresher, more youthful and natural.  And you’ll smile more because it feels so comfortable!
