MORPHE 35O Worth the hype?

morphe350feat1If any palette got hype on social media and is still getting hype, it is the Morphe 35o pallete.I do not know what the ‘o’ stands for, but I think it may be orange. If you know let me know down below!

I love warmed toned eyeshadows so I guess, this pallete was made for me (yes, and millions of others beauties out there think the same!)

It is a relatively cheap palette for beauties in the US to buy. Even here, buying it from a third-party seller was half the price of an UD Naked palette with three times the eyeshadows. Before I get to the 35 eyeshadows themselves, lets talk about the packaging.

It’s cheap black plastic and doesn’t have a mirror. For the price, I didn’t expect embossed flowers and a framed mirror. The palette does seal shut so you can travel with it, just put it in a make up bag. It’s not the kind of palette you can throw in your luggage and think it’s going to be in one piece when you reach the Bahamas. The eyeshadows inside will break if you manhandle it!

Now for the eyeshadows. There are, as the name suggests, 35 eyeshadows, those are lots of eyeshadows. The finishes range from matte, satin, shimmer and a few foiled shades.

The palette, filled with shades of gold, copper, rose gold, browns with red and yellow undertones, glittery neutrals, fiery oranges and a few cool neutrals.

I love the shades in the palette and this is not an autumn exclusive palette as it has been hyped up to be. It has plenty of shades that can be worn all year round.

The quality is okay, you aren’t going to get an eye infection if your wear these but these shadow aren’t high-end. They have high talc content. Talc is used in eyeshadows to bulk it up. This can make some shades less pigmented, feel chalky, kick up a lot of dust and cause fallout Now onto the swatches:

There are 7 eyeshadows running across the palette (left to right) and there are five of those rows.

My swatches are going to be running straight down from top to bottom (vertically) so there will be seven swatches of 5 eyeshadows each. Make sense?

“FINAL THOUGHTS”

Yes, there is fallout but not with every shade. Some perform better than others.

The matte and satin shades are easy to blend for the most part.

The foiled eye shadows baffled me. While they swatch beautifully and those are the shades that everyone reviewing the palette tended to swatch it didn’t translate that way when applied to the lid.

When applied with a brush, it barely transferred onto the lid. I tried with a damp brush and the results were much the same. It applied better with a damp shader brush swiping and smoothing it across the eye to get an even application as opposed to the traditional method of packing the colour onto the lid in dabbing motions. All in all a good palette, worth the hype for the shade selection!

Have you managed to get hold of the Morphe 35o palette? What are your thoughts on the palette in general?
