I don’t have sparse eyebrows by any means, they’re not bushy and thick like Cara Delevingne but they’re average and I can get away with never using a brow pencil or pomade or ‘what-what’ on my eyebrows.
But I’ve decided to grow out my brows, because I didn’t want to thread them to a point where they would never grow back. This can happen, true story.
I believe the natural shape of my eyebrows flatter my face, but I do tend to clean up under the brow a lot more than I should (*hides face in shame)*
So why do your eyebrows?
Well groomed brows can take you from flat to fab in seconds because they frame your face.Having balanced brows will make your eye make up will really pop!!! And the rest of your make up will look balanced and natural.
Also, thicker brows make you look younger because fuller brows (or fuller anything for that matter), exudes youth, now, there’s a reason to grow them out!
Enter the Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade! Yes, founder of the brand, Anastasia Soare is widely known as the brow and eye expert and now I know why.
I got the shade Ebony (neutral brown-black shade), which is the darkest shade I believe. Granite may be darker. My hair is jet black to I decided to go with that as opposed to Chocolate.
The dipbrow pomade has a gel–like texture, smilier to MAC’s fluid line, which by the way, can also be used to fill in eyebrows. (More on that coming soon so watch this space!)
The Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomades have received rave reviews and after using it, I definitely think it’s worth the hype.
The pomade is waterproof and there’s no fading, well not for me at least. It stayed put all day even though you are supposed to finish it off with a brow gel, which of course I didn’t do. Now I use the MAC Prolong wear Waterproof, Brow Set in the shade Brown Ebony)
I wanted to use the pomade for sculpting out my brows in a way that would kind of disguise my growing brow hairs and it did that well. Unlike when you you’re growing out a fringe, there are pretty flower or butterfly clips you can wear to keep things in place and looking pretty.
It worked well at defining my eyebrows and while playing with it, I realized it intensified the colour of my brows and made them stand out in a good way.
I tried my hand at sculpting the arch and tail of my brow and it worked like a charm!
The Anastasia Beverly Hill Dipbrow pomade and doesn’t smudge, it adheres to hair.
In my humble opinion, I wouldn’t recommend this to beauties who have very, sparse brows or none all . . .because it may look like paint, not like in a Vincent Van Gough way . . . there are far better methods of filling in brows for you beauties like, like brow powders eye shadows and pencils.
This is also great for beauties that oily skin and can withstand humidity, it stays put!!!
If you live in Durban (the most humid pace on earth) it will not melt on you because it is waterproof.
I define the arch of my eyebrow as well as lengthen the tail of my brow brow with this product.
You can also use this as eyeliner, but I don’t because I love the eyeliners that I have. I do recommend setting this with a brow gel to keep the hair in place and to prevent them product melting away
I use a MAC 208 small angled brush to apply this pomade in small, short strokes to mimic hair and fill in any sparse areas and define the arch and lengthen the tail of my eye brows.
You want to mimic the look of real hair after all. You need very little of this product to get the results you want and overloading your brush with product can go wrong very, very, very fast. You might as well take a permanent marker and draw on your eyebrows. No, seriously . . . it really can go that wrong!!!!
Price: I paid R380 from @muse.sa that’s her Instagram handle. (Prices vary) You can also get it from third party sellers, however, I have only dealt with two third party sellers that stock . As mentioned @muse.sa @mybeautywishlist.za
You can also buy this from www.hashtagawesome.co.za for R450
Comparable: MAC Fluid Line. I won’t say it’s a DUPE because there are differences in shade selection, texture, finish and application. But in general, they do the same thing.
Have you tried the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade?
I’d love to hear your thoughts
