Boring? Hell no! Becca Ombre Nudes Palette: Review and Swatches

Ok, so there’s no glitter, no shebang! It looks boring, but it’s anything but!

If you have been following me for a while, you will know that I’m a Beccaholic! But I have never tried their eyeshadows, so when Becca SA brought them into the country, I got my paws on it faster that you can say: ‘who let the dogs out, woof, woof!”

There are five, richly pigmented matte shades in the Becca Ombre Nudes palette

Being Becca, the packaging is beautiful, sleek, elegant and classy.

It’s a chocolate brown, mirrored palette with neutral shades.

There are no shade names, but there isn’t a true need to be fair, there are only 5 shades.

beccaombrenudesbackofpaletteIt’s labeled at the back of the pallete, numbered 1 to 5.

Let’s get into the swatches.

1.This is a yellow/beige bone coloured shade. This is a great shade to use all over the eye area to cancel out any discolouration or for setting for setting your primer. It also makes for a beautiful brow bone highlight, especially on dark skin when a stark white highlight can look a bit frightening at times
2. This is a light brown with yellow undertones and is the warmest shade in the palette. This is a great transition shade
3. This is a mid-tone, taupe/brown and looks identical in shade to the Lowlight in the Becca Highlight/Lowlight Sculpting Perfector. This shade is great for filling in brows and adding depth to your eyeshadow look for a seamless look and gradient effect.
4. This is a chocolate brown and makes for a great eyeliner, used wet or smudged on the lower lash line to create a soft, beautiful smokey eye. It creates a softer, eyeliner look, less harsh than black!

5.This is a beautiful deep, dark, chocolate brown more like the chocolate that’s good for you! Needless to say, it makes for great eyeliner and if you’re daring, a sultry smokey eye.

The palette also comes with a great how to guide that shows you how to sculpt, widen and brighten your eye shape. They included deep set eyes, and mine are set into my skull so I really appreciated that!

Just looking at this palette, it’s clear the fading from light to dark, creates that gradient ombre effect with the shades that create natural depth and subtle highlight. The formula of these are velvety soft, not creamy or crumbly so I didn’t experience any fallout. Each colour just meshes with each other and you can get a variety of neutral looks ranging from subtle to bold.

Becca says the formula is free of parabens, fragrance, sulfates and phthalates

Becca also claims that the eye shadows have Green Coffee Oil, which help awaken the eyes and smooth the lids.

This is an elegant pallete and so far the best matte formula of eye shadows I have ever used. Lofty claim I know, it edged my Smashbox Photo op formula, just a bit!

Have you tried the Becca Ombre Nudes palette? I have one regret though, I didn’t pick up the Becca Ombre Rouge Palette but it’s on my wishlist.

Yes I say this all the time when it comes to Becca, it’s SSSSPENSIVE for 5 eyeshadows that are 1,7g each, but Becca is a luxury brand and it doesn’t come cheap. But you certainly get what you pay for!
