There was celebrations and jubilation when Urban Decay opened it’s doors in South Africa on 9 July 2016. Yes, this is a bit late, but so many of you wanted to see what the store looked like so when I got these pics from Urban Decay on Friday, I thought it would be cool to show them to you. . . . (NB All these photographs were provided by Urban Decay) . . . (oops, is the Balm is coming to SA as well?) Onto Urban Decay . . .
VIP PARTY, SANDTON, 8 JULY
The Pre-launch party was held at Dakota Lee in Sandton, Johannesburg on Friday , 8 July. I didn’t make the cut to be on the prestigious VIP list but the country’s top beauty and fashion bloggers, top social media influencers as well as Urban Decay crew were in attendance. Looking fabulous and rock chic . . . with their makeup on point. I wouldn’t have expected anything less from these beauty and fashion gurus.
Gorgeousness!
More gorgeousness . . .
and more gorgeousness . . .
It was revelry all around with a DJ on the decks
Temporary tatoos? Now that looked fun!
Fun times and loads of laughter were the order of the night!
LAUNCH DAY (Sandton City, Saturday, 9 July)
This was open to the public and I WAS there . . .
Here’s the proof
People started queuing from as early as 6am. I got there at 6.30 . . . and I was number 69. The first 100 in the line got a free gift with purchase, depending on how much you spent. Then there was this . . . a treasure trove of Urban Decay goodies worth R10k!
All eye were on this prize, which was won by two of the sweetest girls, who were shaking with excitement!
Security was tight . . . guy in black suit . . enough said . . .
Finally at 11, the doors opened . . . and it was a moment of pure joy!
Not everyone could get in because the store is small, very small, and with five staff on hand, you could perhaps fit in 10 others at a time . . . but the store is beautiful as you can see.
These displays though? Wow! #deceased
It was a great experience and I would gladly do it over. I hope this very short picture blog gave you and idea of what it was like and hopefully you enjoyed this . . . despite the long queues and waiting . . . everyone was smiling . . .
Urban Decay is currently selling the Naked palettes in their pop up store for a limited time only, so grab them before it’s gone!
Will you be visiting the store? Will you be camping out in Cape Town when their store opens? Let me know down below.
Until next time, stay blessed and beautiful,
I love you all so very much, more than the gorgeous displays!
