If you have a Bobbi Brown obsession, you know the joy of the brand celebrating 25 years, their silver jubilee in 2016. And while I love Too Faced and Kat Von D, these are cosmetic lines not available in South Africa, my top 3 brands that we can buy in Mzansi have to be, Bobbi Brown, Smashbox and MAC!
I don’t have an extensive range of Bobbi Brown cosmetics because they are hella ssssspensive and when you think of the price 2 of Bobbi Brown’s sparkle eye shadows . . . you can buy you an Urban Decay Naked palette (True story) I believe that this, more often than not, deters many from investing this brand. I say investing because Bobbi Brown is undoubtedly one of the most –worth every cent’ kind of cosmetics that will last you a long, long, time. Of course, there are plenty of other brands that are great quality with a lower price tag, but in my experience, Bobbi Brown makeup and skincare has never disappointed.
Dang! Even their empty palettes are not ssssheeeep!
Some of their best sellers will have to be their Shimmer Bricks and Highlight powders and their stick foundations. I own two Highlight Powders from the permanent range. Pink Glow and Bronze Glow and they are breathtakingly beautiful on my dark skin. Their foundation sticks is a go-to foundation for me and the shimmer bricks are as useful as they are practical. You can use them as blush, eye shadow and highlighters. These highlight powders are in my top highlight powders list, with Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector (pressed) edging them
Her Summer 2016 collection called the Sunset Pink Collection is my dream collection, having colours and formulas that I love and some I want to try.
There are several pieces in this collection, and, while I want every piece, it’s out of my budget.
The Sunset Pink collection is inspired by the warm, flattering light of the late afternoon Telluride sunset.
Telluride is a town in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains.
Bobbi says: “The Sunset in Telluride (pictured, photographed by her son, Duke)
is incredible— the sky turns an intense pinky red color that makes everyone look radiant.”
To recreate the sunset glow, here are the products in the collection.
The packaging of the highlighters is black case with light beige and grey lettering, not the normal white and black we are used to.
Telluride: A warm shimmering mauve
Afternoon Glow: A champagne bronze
Sunset Glow: A pink with gold shimmer
