Colorpop pressed shadows have been around for a while now and I have been sitting with them since January. My beloved cousin bought this 12 pan eyeshadow palette, which was an Ulta-exclusive from the US.
The packaging is a sturdy cardboard with magnetic closure. The design of on the palette outer packaging features roses in pink and red, which fits with the colour story of the palette.
The edgy font paired with the feminine, girly rose pattern is a refreshing contrast that elevates the look of the palette.
The shade names are both inside the palette on the side of each shade and on the back of the palette too, which is super helpful.
While four are repeat shades from the Colorpop Pan Pressed Powder Shadow Palette range, they were all new. However, having some permanent colours in the pallete, is a good indication if I want to buy a certain shade from the permanent line.
This deep warm-toned palette features reddish browns, muted reds and some gold, both shimmery and matte finishes, which standout on medium to deep skin tones.
Swatches
Most of the shades are pigmented, blendable, and long-wearing.
Row 1
Know Better is a pale pink with warmer undertones and flecks of silvery pink and gold sparkle.
Stay Golden is a brighter, deep dusty pink (Permanent)
Hooky is a medium reddish brown with a matte finish.
20 Something is a bright, peachy gold with warm undertones and a sparkling, metallic finish. It was more loosely-pressed in the pan, so there was some fallout. (Permanent)
Issues #2 is a matte light-medium, yellowed peach with warm undertones (Permanent)
Reckless is a matte deep chocolate burgundy. This one can stain the lids.
Rookie is a semi-matte deep orange copper with multi-coloured shimmer.
Fortunate is a light-medium, reddish-brown with warm undertones.
Realness is a matte muted, dark brown with copper reflects.
Easy Go is a satin red with warm undertones
Side Tracked is semi matte light-medium with gold micro-sparkle. (Permanent)
Smitten is a mix of mid-tone red and pink shimmer.
Since you can’t get this any longer, I found a dupe in the Makeup Revolution Flawless 4 palette. This is also a dupe of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette and the discontinued MAC Red Hot Times Nine palette.
Here they are side by side.
Overall, I was impressed by the palette. It does have fallout so do your eye makeup before your face makeup. The glitter could have been pressed harder into the pan but the duo chrome and multi reflective shades make up for that.
